Velikovsky’s World in Collision

Record snowfalls across the globe are chilling to the global warming alarmists that hide in Darwinist institutions and Temples.  These people are formidable adversaries when it comes to faith and reason, which Immanuel Velikovsky found out after publishing his break through scientific discoveries.

Velikovsky is the man who upset Carl Sagan’s PBS cosmology with original thinking. [Recall, Sagan appeared on many PBS broadcasts; the program was called ‘Cosmos’ Here is a sample from Professor Sagan.]

As a profound thinker and scientist, Velikovsky found out that when anyone challenges the Darwinite Science establishment, the politically correct scientists unleash their attack dogs from the ‘Darwinite Press’.  In his case, they even went so far as to threaten book publishers with retribution if they published Velikovsky’s ideas, which were contrary to their own evolutionist cosmology.   This happened in both 1950 and 1974, becoming famously known as the Velikovsky affair.

So why were the Darwinites so afraid of him?

First, he was born (1895) to a zealous Zionist Jewish father from Belarus; Simon Velikovsky.  He initially lived in the same eastern European city as the brilliant symbolic expressionist painter, Marc Chagall.  Though only 7 years apart, Chagall and Velikovsky never met each other as more than 20 synagogues existed at this time in the Northern Belarus city of Vitebsk.

Vitebsk itself was an unfortunate location.  It had strategic militarily advantage.  Lying only 320 miles west of Moscow, Vitebsk was the doorway to the east.  Its history was much like Jerusalem, whereby it endured a series of destructive military campaigns and occupations by foreign armies.  Both Napoleon and Hitler made Vitebsk their primary objective in their foolish marches through the Russian empire.

What was unusual about Vitebsk is that it was primarily a city of refuge for Eastern European Jews escaping pogroms and persecutions.  The city’s demographic was half Jewish, a population of 70,000 pulsing with safety status.  Overrun again in 1941 by the Nazi’s, Vitebsk was ethnically cleansed.  The Germans achieved one of their most heinous crimes of WWII (operation Barbarossa) exterminating 100% of the Jews within Vitebsk’s borders and surrounding villages.

A city of extreme Zionist passion and Aliyah funding, none of its Jews survived to describe the July-October 1941 Nazi pogrom which filled the Dvina River with corpses.  Enraged with satanic hatred, 4,090 Jewish women and children perished at the height of a final 3 day ghetto atrocity perpetrated by the Nazis.

But 17 years prior to this crime in 1924, Velikovsky himself would make Aliyah to Palestine.  After 15 years in the Holy Land, he would travel to the USA on a temporary sabbatical visa which fortunately for science, became permanent. You see, Vitebsk was a city of extreme Zionist passion and Aliyah funding.  No Jews survived in Vitebsk to describe the July-October 1941 Nazi pogrom which filled the Dvina River with corpses, including 4,090 Jewish women and children which the Nazi’s butchered at the height of a final 3 day ghetto annihilation.

But prior to this crime (1924), Velikovsky himself would make Aliyah to Palestine.  After 15 years in the Holy Land (1939), he would then travel to the USA on a temporary sabbatical visa which became permanent citizenship.

Velikovsky and his family arrived in New York City without much money and quickly found a modest apartment.  It was 1939 and he was researching a book he was writing.

New York City gave him access to the documents and translations of the Columbia University Library, which enabled him to complete his work on ‘Freud’s Dreams’.  But it was the discovery of an ancient Egyptian poem in the same library which brought Velikovsky into conflict with the Darwinites.

This ancient poem along with 2 other events, caused Velikovsky to refute Sigmund Freud’s theory that ‘Mosaic Law was an offshoot of the beliefs of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaton’.

Thus we find the motivation of Velikovsky’s courage and research inspired by the events below:

  • Hitler’s genocidal eugenics ideology terrified Jews worldwide, including his own family members in Europe.
  • Velikovsky’s hometown, Vitebsk and it’s Jews, were totally annihilated by the invading German Army as a pretext to conquering Moscow in October 1941.
  • In April 1940, he discovered and read the ‘Poem of Ipuwer Egypt‘.  This ancient document convinced him that the Exodus was a real event of catastrophic astronomy, recorded by the ancients.  This papyrus confirmed Biblical events by the writings of an Egyptian eye witness to the 10 plagues.

Velikovsky’s research into many other ancient documents plus his own brilliant scientific deductions, aroused a competition of ideas to the mainstream cosmology invented by Newton and Einstein.  Velikovsky advocated an ‘apocalyptic cosmos’, not the mainstream ‘cyclical cosmos’.

Below find Velikovsky’s cataclysmic ideas which rocked the scientific world, which he eventually postulated in his book, ‘World’s in Collision’.

1.  Based on ancient writings from dead civilizations, sky events and catastrophic upheavals on the planet were recorded by ancient man in his mythology and religious writings. The reason ancients prescribed great respect for the planet Jupiter and associated it with the deity Zeus
(Regal Stars) is because of the astral events the ancients witnessed in the night sky from Jupiter, especially Zeus’ thunderbolts.  Velikovsky deduced planetary electrical discharge based on these ancient writings and he corresponded with Einstein about his hypothesis.  Unforeseen, modern Science has now confirmed Velikovsky’s hypothesis that the sun/planets are electrically charged and produce radio waves.

2. Again based on these ancient writings, Velikovsky theorized  a) that the planet Saturn may have been in nova, causing earth’s deluge (Noah’s flood);  b) that a galactic asteroid ejected by Jupiter may have collided with earth, causing devastation at Sodom and Gomorrah; and c) that Venus was initially a comet oriented mass that kissed earth like a billiard ball, setting off catastrophic geologic and climate change, possibly causing the 10 plagues of Egypt.

Velikovsky’s theories gave a different explanation and cosmology for a worldwide deluge and mass extinction of species (Mammoths w/buttercups in their mouths, frozen in Siberia), plus changes in planetary polarity and rotational speed (antediluvian year differences).  He speculated that this collision of worlds happened recently and would account for not only man’s written mythology and religious writings, but also for geologic change Darwinites mistakenly believe occurred incrementally over great time spans.  Velikovsky stated that these planetary collisions occured due to forces Newton and Einstein failed to account for in their planetary mathematics.

From his viewpoint, Einstein and Newton absent mindedly viewed only Inertia and Gravity, having missed electrical discharge and electromagnetism within planetary systems. Like a good school teacher, he marked their papers deficient.

3 deductions collided simultaneously in Velikovsky’s life in 1940-1, the period when Hitler’s genocidal eugenics ideology terrified Jews worldwide (including Velikovsky’s family members in Europe.  Note: Velikovsky’s hometown, Vitebsk and its Jews, were totally annihilated by the invading German Army as a pretext to conquering Moscow…October 1941).

These ideas rocked the scientific world and set in motion a persecution of Velikovsky by the Darwinites, not unlike the persecution of Galileo by the Vatican in the 16th century.

Two men came to the forefront to destroy the ideas of Velikovsky that threatened cosmological orthodoxy.  Both were professors of Astronomy; Dr. Harlow Shapley of the Harvard Observatory and Carl Sagan, Professor at Cornell University.  Even McMillan publishing was threatened with retribution by the Darwinite establishment if they published Velikovsky’s ideas (1950).  McMillan, dependent on school textbooks and scientific treatises, folded.

Sadly like Jeremiah the prophet, Velikovsky was baited then switched at the ‘American Academy for the Advancement of Science’s’ AAAS inquisition in February 1974, having been framed and humiliated by the government dependent Darwinites at a specially organized February 1974 conference in San Francisco (at the famous St. Francis hotel).  Carl Sagan, chief prosecutor for the Darwinites in Jean Calvin fashion (Servetus affair), was tasked with writing the main refutation of Velikovsky.

Sagan, true to his pre-debate intentions to sway public opinion (as orthodox scientists were in danger of losing public support due to their previous intolerance of Velikovsky’s books and person), used his personal charisma, TV stardom, and oratory skills to discredit Velikovsky and paint him as a crank.  The media complied with this propaganda assault to move public opinion back to orthodoxy.  Sagan quickly exited the AAAS conference, unwilling to personally appear for the rebuttal of his presentation, disrespecting and snubbing Velikovsky like a Hollywood star would his unworthy admirers.

Those who stayed for the evening session and listened to Velikovsky refute of Sagan’s buttery presentation, became persuaded that Velikovsky had successfully challenged scientific orthodoxy.  3 years after the conference, Sagan revised his 57 page conference manuscript in an attempt to refute the rebuttals he so cowardly refused to debate personally in Velikovsky’s presence.

Why did Sagan bother with this revision many years later? Because there was too much government money was at stake and the Darwinites did not want to risk losing their lofty positions of scientific high priesthood at America’s major universities.

No, Velikovsky’s heresies could not be openly discussed (much like climate science today) lest people hear an inconvenient truth, a competing argument.  The Darwinites demonized him, branding Velikovsky as a scientific cultist.

However, this intolerant political motive of Sagan was not within the inquisitive nature of Albert Einstein, who died in 1955 while re-reading Velikovsky’s work for yet a third time.  Velikovsky’s ‘Worlds in Collision‘, the book (not printed by McMillan) which challenged Einstein’s own theory of relativity as being incomplete (by not considering ‘planet/sun electricity’ and ‘planet/sun electromagnetism’) lay open on Professor Einstein’s desk where he collapsed from a heart attack, his last living moments at his Princeton, NJ home.
